Empowering Rural India Through
Share your knowledge. Become a VolunTeacher.
VolunTeaching is a responsibility-driven movement that connects urban talent with nearby villages through consistent weekend engagement.
It is not charity. It is not a one-time activity. It is a way to contribute your time, knowledge, and presence toward nation-building.
एक दिन देश के लिए!
A simple effort with a powerful purpose
VolunTeaching is an effort to strengthen rural India by mobilising educated and skilled individuals from urban and semi-urban spaces to engage with nearby villages.
Through AIREP, VolunTeachers visit assigned village communities mainly on weekends and support children through foundational learning, extracurricular activities, life exposure, and community-based engagement.
When people show up consistently, learning improves, relationships grow, and rural communities gain access to human capital that is often concentrated in cities.
Consistency turns good intention into rural empowerment.
Rural empowerment needs more than resources.
It needs people.
Many rural children do not lack potential. They lack sustained access to guidance, exposure, encouragement, and learning support.
VolunTeaching fills this gap by bringing committed individuals closer to rural communities — week after week, year after year.
Human Presence
Children grow when they regularly see people who care enough to return.
Foundational Learning
VolunTeachers help children with basics like Maths, English, reading, communication, and confidence.
Community Connection
A VolunTeacher does not only teach. They build relationships with children, families, and the local context.
Long-Term Impact
Consistent engagement creates continuity, trust, and a shared sense of responsibility.
How VolunTeaching works
A VolunTeacher usually joins through AIREP, visits a nearby village on weekends, and engages with an assigned village area or group of children.
This is not about “teaching from above”. It is about walking with the community consistently.
- Helping children with basic subjects and foundational learning
- Conducting extracurricular and confidence-building activities
- Supporting learning through games, stories, conversations, and exposure
- Understanding the local context with respect and patience
- Participating in broader rural empowerment activities around education, vocation, and health
Enabled by All India Rural Empowerment Program
What began in 2008 as a small Sunday teaching effort has grown into a sustained rural empowerment movement where people from different walks of life spend one day for nation-building.
