What brings us together
VolunTeaching brings people and rural communities together through learning, week after week.
Children have curiosity and potential. Regular guidance and exposure to different people, skills and ideas help them explore more possibilities. You don’t need to be a teacher to contribute.

Travel to the community. Share stories, skills and activities. Make room for questions.
Reflect on the day and come back. Consistency turns a visit into a relationship.
Inside a VolunTeaching session
Reading, making, playing, asking. A session makes room for all of them.

01 / Expression
A name on a card. A story read aloud. Words and numbers become personal when children have space to practise and express themselves.
02 / Discovery
Take something apart. Ask how it works. From making with clay to exploring computer hardware, curiosity becomes practical experience.
03 / Connection
Different ages, different experiences, one shared circle. Games, conversations and regular visits bring generations together.
Since 2008
2008
The journey began in Paldi Kankaj. A simple commitment to share knowledge became a movement built on regular visits and lasting relationships.

Where we teach
From villages near Ahmedabad to university-led movements, participation grows through a connection to a community.
Miroli, Pirana, Giramtha, Naj, Vasai, Timba, Navapura, Ode and Paldi Kankaj. A connected village cluster along the Ahmedabad–Dholka corridor.
Ganpat, Nirma and Kutchh VolunTeaching Movements connect university students with rural communities, bringing field experience and responsibility into student life.
The Dr. Mahesh Mehta Center for Holistic Development (MMCHD) brings VolunTeachers, educators and community members together for orientation, learning and coordination.
People behind the movement
Children, families, local VolunTeachers, educators and supporters all have a place in this story.
